Between that and running around I haven't had much time to blog. Last Saturday Steven, Debbie and I went to The Illinois/Ohio State football game.... it was a much better game than predicted. Ohio State had not lost this year and was suppose to wipe up on Illinois. Illinois is a below 500% team and they tied up the game in the final minutes and the game went to overtime. OSU scored and Illinois missed (questionable) passes in the end zone. We set in the endzone and the weather was pretty cold with the wind in our faces. We left early, walked back to our car and heard from the PA system that Illinois had tied the game as we were leaving the stadium. It was a very good game and we enjoyed ourselves even though we missed the ending... getting away with out the crowd was well worth missing the end. Next Suday we see the Bears and Lions play in Champaign.

To blog or not to blog that is the question. I decide to blog.

Not sure what to write about, but I'm sure that I can be as boring as the next blogger and that should be enough to keep the blog readers amused.

Stay tuned for more exciting blog.

On the news scene.... Today is the day after they caught those (suspected of being the) DC area snipers.... what would cause someone to do something like that is beyond my way of thinking. I am the type of person that has watched enought of those twisted plot murder mysteries that I honestly believe there is always a doubt if someone did it. I honestly think I could never be on a jury. BUT in this case it sounds like there is absolutely no doubt.... we will see how this pans out over the next months. IF the judical system can convict I would like to see the punishment fit the crime.... maybe lock these guys up in a fenced in area with hands tied to their sides and blind folds... give the families of the victims small guns that would only maim, let the families enjoy themselves. Like Timothy McVeigh . I think they should have placed him in a building and blow the building... lethal injection is much too easy..... this is really strange coming from my keyboard because I'm totally not violent.

On the sports scene.... since my Cardinals were eliminated from the playoffs... I have lost interest ... I read according to the ratings the rest of the world has too. I think baseball needs to come up with a way to make sure no two teams in the World Series can be from the same area. Drop National and American Leagues and have East and West or North and South or Northeast/Southeast/Northwest/Southwest if they need 4 divisions. There should never be two teams from NY or California in the World Series ... can we make that a rule.

Local scene... tomorrow is the big Halloween parade in Oblong....25 bands... the largest night time parade in Illinois.... my buddy Herb is setting up a camera in a bucket truck, Newton radio is broadcasting, the emergency response team is furnishing the lights and the entire parade is being web cast on Inetcam. Not bad for a small town. I helped Herb get the word out by sending out messages to the 620 of so on my alumni list. One lady in town complained that the live webcast will hurt the turn out.... that is yet to be seen.... My oldest son Steven is going to be driving my new Mustang and I will be walking along side dressed as a (guess you will have to be there to find out). My dear dear wife is working on the costume as I write.... it is going to be very good.Maybe I'll post a picture tomorrow... if I can

Stay tuned for more exciting blog.
